How to recover from Google Panda hit website?

My client's website got hit by Google Panda for spammy link building.
So he want to recover & asked for tips from me.
Tell me something what you know.

Panda hits the website for it's poor content, Penguin hits websites for spammy link building. Use Google disawow tool and cancel all the spammy links, check the % of anchors used for backlinks and so on. Make it natural.
